Fans of B.I have raised concerns online following the release of promotional content related to an upcoming group associated with Modhaus, citing similarities between the project’s branding and concepts long associated with the artist.

The discussion began after teaser materials and social media content featuring the terms “BI,” “Identity,” “ID,” “Cosmo,” and “find your idntt” circulated online. Many fans noted that the combination of these terms closely resembles branding elements tied to B.I’s career and fandom identity.

B.I, whose real name is Kim Hanbin, has used the stage name “B.I” since his early career. His official fandom name, “ID,” was introduced as short for “BE IDENTITY,” a concept that has remained closely connected to the artist’s music and image over the years. Fans also pointed to “Cosmos,” the title of B.I’s 2021 fan song, as another similarity referenced in the new project’s materials.

Several posts criticizing the overlap quickly gained traction across social media platforms. One fan wrote, “‘B.I’ is the established stage name of Kim Hanbin and has been tied to his identity and brand for over a decade. Reusing ‘BI’ in this context inevitably creates confusion and overlap.”

Another post stated, “This isn’t fans ‘overreacting.’ It’s fans pointing out a problem early before it becomes an official identity tied to the fandom long-term.”

Fans also pushed back against claims circulating online that the similarities may have been accidental or the result of AI-generated production errors. One user commented, “They’re saying that the Busan account made a mistake because of ChatGPT, but in the video the members say ‘B.I, yorobun.’”

Others stressed that the criticism is not directed at the group members themselves, but rather at the organizers and management behind the project. “It’s not being bitter. It’s protecting an artist’s official brand identity and creative effort,” one fan wrote, while another added that the issue concerns years of work and recognition attached to B.I’s name and concepts.

The conversation intensified after fans noticed that Busan One Festival later deleted the original promotional video post connected to the controversy. The deletion has since fueled further speculation and discussion among fans online.

As of writing, neither Modhaus nor the organizer has released an official statement regarding the matter.
