Chicosci to Mark 20 Years of Landmark Album With Anniversary Show, Vinyl Release
Chicosci is revisiting one of the most important chapters of its career as the band marks the 20th anniversary of its self-titled album with a special live show and its first official vinyl release.
The anniversary show, titled A Toast to All Our Crimes, will take place on June 6 at Soundcheck Inc. in Pasig. The event will focus on the band’s 2006 album, a release that helped define Chicosci’s sound during a major shift in the local rock scene.

The band, composed of vocalist Miggy Chavez, guitarist Mong Alcaraz, bassist Eco del Rio and drummer Victor Guison, will perform the album in full for longtime fans and new listeners.
Released during a period when OPM was moving between acoustic pop, “pogi rock” and the fading presence of early nu metal, the album introduced a sharper and heavier direction for Chicosci. Its songs eventually became live favorites and helped the band reach a wider audience.
“This album was a test for the band,” Mong shared. “In 2006, it was a strange time in OPM. For the first time, we decided to do everything ourselves — writing, recording, production, marketing, packaging and distribution. It was our first step as an independent band, and we’ve remained that band since.”

For Miggy, the upcoming show is a chance to bring fans back to the era that shaped the band’s mid-2000s run.
“We’ll be playing the White Album in its entirety, along with a few more songs,” he said. “We’ve been rehearsing a lot for this show, and we’re excited for people to experience it — even our soundcheck, if they’re into that.”
The celebration also comes with the long-awaited vinyl release of the album. For years, fans have been asking for a physical pressing of the record, and the release offers both collectors and younger listeners a new way to experience the band’s catalog.
“I think it’s important for us to celebrate this album because it resonated with so many people,” Chavez said. “It means a lot to us, and it’s mind-blowing that it continues to mean a lot to others as well.”
Twenty years later, the album’s influence can still be felt in newer local acts that mix heavy music with melody. For Chicosci, the anniversary is both a look back at a turning point and a reminder of how the record continues to connect with listeners.

“The album was a massive turning point for the band,” Chavez added. “Celebrating it 20 years later is a testament to how far we’ve come — and we couldn’t have done it without everyone who’s been with us along the way.”
A Toast to All Our Crimes: 20 Years of the Chicosci Album happens on June 6 at Soundcheck Inc. in Pasig, with Kamikazee joining the lineup. Tickets are available through bit.ly/CHICOSCI20years.
