CISCO CEO To Speak At The Philippine Digital Convention 2020
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cisco Systems, Inc., Chuck Robbins, will be a distinguished guest at PLDT Enterprise’s Philippine Digital Convention 2020 (PH Digicon) on October 28-30, 2020.
Global industry mavens, thought leaders, and technology pioneers will gather at PH Digicon 2020 to drive technological enablement among organizations across the Asia Pacific region. The general topic for this year’s conference is “Influence,” with the goal of encouraging delegates to adopt ideas and technologies that have a positive impact on society.
Mr. Robbins will be one of the event’s featured speakers, and he will participate in a virtual fireside conversation with PLDT Group Chairman and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan, chaired by Cathy Yang, PLDT Group Head of Corporate Communications.
Mr. Robbins is a seasoned Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur. He is the CEO of Cisco Systems, Inc., an American international technological company founded in 1984 in San Francisco and headquartered in San Jose, California. Cisco is a company that makes, sells, and develops networking hardware, telecommunications equipment, and other high-tech services and products.
He began his career at Cisco in 1997 as an Account Manager and has more than 20 years of experience with the company. Senior Vice President for US Commercial, Senior Vice President for US Enterprise, Commercial & Canada, and Senior Vice President for both Americas Sales and Worldwide Field Operations were among the positions he held in the sales and channel groups. In 2015, he was named CEO of Cisco, and in 2017, he was elected Chairman. Mr. Robbins had worked at Bay Networks and Ascend Communications before joining Cisco.
Mr. Robbins is a member of the BlackRock Board of Directors as well as the Business Roundtable Board of Directors, where he chairs the Immigration Committee. He is also the Chairman of the United States-Japan Business Council. His additional affiliations include the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council, the Ford Foundation Board of Trustees, and the International Council for Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a computer science specialization.
