“Kalituhan” By Gracenote Featuring Monty Macalino Of Mayonnaise Is About Unconditional Love

“Kalituhan,” the latest single by Gracenote featuring Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise, is essentially a song inspired by a labyrinth; it is full of quirks and causes confusion. According to the band, “Kalituhan” is a song about unconditionally loving someone.

After conceiving of a maze as a central concept, singer and composer Eunice Jorge was able to compose “Kalituhan effortlessly.”
E recalls, “It was a wet night and I was sitting on my bed with a guitar when the music and lyrics simultaneously poured out. The idea was inspired by the concept of a maze. I was only using analogies and contrasts for fun. The song was then composed. “Completed the demo using GarageBand in June 2019.”
“The initial tempo was slightly faster than the final version. “However, during the pre-production phase with my band, we chose to slow it down to capture the proper atmosphere for the song,” she explains. Ultimately, the band and Monty recorded “Kalituhan” in Yellow Room Studio in June of last year.
There’s no disputing that people come and go, but what if the most significant person in your life, the one with whom you hope to spend eternity, is riddled with uncertainties and apprehensive about the decisions he or she makes? And here you are, still clinging to the faint hope that you and she will eventually meet. And of course, you aspire to be happy together for good – “wag sanang bibitawan sa gitna ng kalituhan / samahan mo ako hanggang dulo,” the artists sing in its chorus.
“Like in a maze, maraming pwedeng daanan, pwedeng magiba ng landas, pero kahit magkalituhan, sana magkita pa rin sa dulo,” Eunice also says.
Gracenote and Monty Macalino’s “Kalituhan” is currently available on Universal Records Philippines.
