Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2024

The Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF), the country’s unique airshow event, will return to the skies on February 16-18, 2024 (Friday-Sunday). New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac, will serve as the site for the three-day event.

After a three-year hiatus, “A Weekend of Everything that Flies” will once again provide families, friends, and aviation enthusiasts with the opportunity to witness nonstop flying demonstrations from regular and special-shaped hot air balloons, helicopters, skydivers, paragliders, radio-controlled aircraft, kites, and drones, all in one location.

Attendees can also look forward to different enjoyable and educational activities through aviation career seminars, fly markets, culinary kiosks, and family entertainment. Evenings will culminate with a spectacular night radiance and concerts featuring hot air balloons. Capt. Joy Roa, Event Director of the PIHABF, stated, “Since restrictions have been lifted, we now have the opportunity to host a meaningful event for families and friends. By inviting aviators from around the globe to participate in the aerial exhibitions, we continue to provide everyone with a genuine airshow experience, as we have for over two decades.”

The 24th iteration of the PIHABF will be held in New Clark City, a sports hub established by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) that features a 20,000-seat Athletics Stadium, aquatics facility, and numerous open grounds. The PIHABF has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the BCDA for New Clark City to host the airshow event in 2024. Capt. Joy Roa, the Event Director of the PIHABF, and Engr. Joshua Bingcang, the President and Chief Executive Officer of BCDA, signed the MOU. “We are thrilled to welcome the PIHABF to New Clark City, their new home.” This contemporary festival, which brings pleasure to both young and elderly, deserves to be celebrated in New Clark City’s world-class facilities, which are pleasant, expansive, and convenient for event attendees, according to BCDA PCEO Eng. Joshua Bingcang. “We hope this partnership is just the start of many more events in the coming years.”

This event is a collaboration between Clark Development Corporation and the Tarlac Provincial Government. “The province of Tarlac welcomes the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, which, for more than two decades, has consistently staged a highly entertaining and educational aviation event, bringing a great deal of tourism and business opportunities to this part of Central Luzon,” said Governor Susan Yap.

The (PIHABF) Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, also known as “A Weekend of Everything that Flies,” has been Asia’s most anticipated and longest-running recreational aviation event for over two decades. Over the years, it has remained true to its original goals: to promote an interest in aviation, to instill discipline in young pilots, and to imbue a sentiment of community service in everyone.
