The Highlights of RIIZING DAY in Manila
Serving face and talent, it’s without a doubt that these boys have a massive fanbase in the Philippines. The venue was filled with excited fans who lit the space up with their orange fanlights.
Cheers erupted from the crowd as RIIZE emerged from the stage. An overwhelming aura lingered in the air, RIIZE stood charismatically over the audience who braced themselves for their powerful intro song: Siren.
Filo BRIIZEs couldn’t help but greet RIIZE with their loudest cheer, astonishing the boys with their overflowing energy. Each member went forward to proudly greet the audience with the Filipino phrases they’d just learned. They express how exciting it is to be in Manila to meet their Filipino fans, considering that it’s also their first time being here.
Sungchan mentions that it’s not his first time being in the Philippines. “Actually when I was younger I had an experience of coming to the Philippines and I had a really good memory. And of course today, I hope we will make good memories as well with you guys tonight. Ready na ba kayo?”
“We have prepared a lot of different sides of our charms, so please look forward to the end of our show and please enjoy with us tonight!” said Eunseok.
Of course, RIIZE didn’t come unprepared and had lots of enjoyable segments for the fans! These segments didn’t just keep the fans entertained but also helped them become familiar with each other better.
Bravo Capsule
RIIZE sat down and began their first segment with Bravo Capsule: Things BRIIZE is curious about RIIZE. In this segment, each member will pick out a capsule containing a BRIIZE’s question to answer.
For the first one, Wonbin, Sohee, and Anton sang the acapella version of Honestly upon a BRIIZE’s capsule request and enthralled the Manila crowd with their performance.
Next, Sohee reveals a capsule that claimed Shotaro as the member with the most aegyo, with a succeeding request if he could perform an aegyo for the other members to follow. Without a glint of hesitation, Shotaro shows his magnetic aegyo and wins the fans’ affection, while the other members imitate him amusingly.
“Is there any side of yourself that you haven’t shown to Briize yet?” Anton reads the capsule out loud.”What would it be? Show us something that you’re confident in or good at.” Anton shows his hidden side by rapping Sungchan’s part. Sungchan humorously corrected his rap and revealed how Anton often teased him by imitating his rap.
It was Shotaro’s turn to pick out a capsule, and a Briize asked which songs by his seniors would he like to cover. Shotaro says that he would like to cover Kai’s “Mmmh”, which he does so by doing a quick yet jaw-dropping dance of it on stage that showcases his body’s fluidity and seamless gestures.
Moving on, a BRIIZE asked Wonbin what was his favorite among his parts in their songs. Wonbin chose his first part at the beginning of Boom Boom Bass and put the crowd on with his groovy dance moves.
Eunseok read out their last capsule,” If you were to make a dance routine like Joy with Shotaro and Wonbin, what song would you like to do next?” The boys replied that they’d like a new choreography for Boom Boom Bass and Talk Saxy. “In the future, we’ll upload the new choreo if we have the chance!”
Odyssey for Everyone
For this segment, RIIZE was divided into two teams: Team Hyung and Team Dongsaeng. Both teams will roll a dice and will move by the number according to the dice. A point will be earned if they manage to complete the hidden mission in that space. Odyssey for Everyone will conclude once both teams finish three missions, and the team with the most points wins. Two losers will get a “Real-Time Growth Challenge” mission.
The Grip Strength Game was up first. In this challenge, each member of the two respective teams takes turns measuring their grip strength. Competitiveness built up in the air, and the hyungs were able to win this round.
Follow My Lead was introduced as the next mission. Two members from each team will be selected for this game; the defense member will strike a pose, while the blindfolded offense member from the rival team will attempt to guess and imitate the pose by touching them. The crowd was filled with laughter as the offense member struggled to guess the hilarious pose the defense member was doing.
Lastly, they moved to the last mission: Dance Challenge Competition. Here, the winner will be based on the fan’s cheers. It got even more exciting when they danced off to BINI’s Salamin, Salamin, and SB19’s Gento! Both teams did exceptionally well, but Team Dongsaeng won the hearts of BRIIZEs.
Team Dongsaeng snagged an effortless victory and concluded Odyssey for Everyone. Unfortunately, the hyungs had to do a “Real-Time Growth Challenge” mission. Sungchan’s mission was to dance a sexy version of Boom Boom Bass in front of a landmark in Singapore. While Sohee tasked Shotaro to work his abs out and reveal the results at the next fan con.
”This mission should have a ‘growth mission’, but it’s becoming a penalty mission.” Anton remarks jokingly and adds,”Please look forward to how RIIZE is growing as a group as well!”
A Successful Fan Project
RIIZE Pilipinas and the rest of Filo BRIIZEs prepared a heartfelt gesture for the boys by putting up a long banner in the center of the concert venue. The banner read, “LETS RIIZE TOGETHER AND CLIMB UP TO THE TOP OF THE WORLD!” The boys were very touched upon seeing this lovely message and extended their sincere gratitude to their Filipino fanbase.
Momentous Performances
RIIZE riled up Araneta Coliseum as they gave the fans hit after hit. Not only did they perform their songs but also covered White Christmas by Super Junior and One Direction’s One Thing. The boys’ free-spirited and lively energy truly embodied One Thing, capturing the hearts of Filo BRIIZEs.
At the concert’s climax, RIIZE surprisingly performed Boom Boom Bass for the first time in their fan con! This also makes Manila the first ever stop to hear Boom Boom Bass.
It’s not a fan con without fan interactions! RIIZE serenaded their fans with One Kiss during their encore. The boys are seen energetically interacting with their fans from across the stage by waving to them and reading their fans’ banners.
For their closing MENT, the boys thank their main sponsor, Bench, for making their fan con in Manila possible. They also show their appreciation towards Filo BRIIZEs for giving them an unforgettable first impression, saying that hopefully, they’ll be able to stay longer in Manila next time and give them an even bigger stage.
As if it couldn’t get any sweeter, the boys had a heartwarming performance of Memories and ended the night with a beautiful group photo alongside their fans.
There’s no doubt that RIIZE’s first visit here in the Philippines left a mark on both the group and their passionate Filipino fans. Not only did the boys showcase their phenomenal talent but also developed a deeper bond with Filo BRIIZEs.
Everyone will be anticipating RIIZE’s next return, confident that their star will continue to shine brightly on the global stage for days to come.
