Run Ortigas 2023: An Ortigas East Day Of Running, Fitness, And Tail-Wagging Fun

As the streets erupted in fervor and exuberance, more than 1,500 participants and their canine companions participated in the second annual Run Ortigas 2023. The event, coordinated by Runrio, the preeminent race organizer in the Philippines, and Ortigas Land, gathered members of the Ortigas Community of all ages and fitness levels for a day of running, fitness, and tail-wagging enjoyment.
Athletic Prowess: Leading Finishers and Their Memorable Times
On the sizzling asphalt, the competitors demonstrated their speed and endurance; the racecourse was marked by the top three finishers in each category. The victors’ names, times, and monetary awards are as follows:
- Each of Jackson Chirchir (32:20) and Joida Gagnao (39:00), the male and female 10K champions, was awarded Php 8,000. Junel Gobotia (33:40) and Maricar Camacho (41:21) finished in second place and were awarded Php 6,000 each. Mark Anthony Oximar (35:00) and Beverly Parale (47:35) tied for third place and were awarded Php 4,000 each.
- The male & female winners of the 5K race were Ritchie Estampador (16:02) and Jennelyn Isibido (21:04), respectively, and they were awarded Php 7,000. Janeza Mie Sustituedo (22:40) and Edgar Lee Jr. (16:45) tied for second place and were awarded Php 5,000 each. Third-place finishers Mark Angelo Biagtan (17:30) and Maria Me Ablando (24:08) were awarded Php 3,000 each.
- Ratos and Moose, accompanied by their owners Enrico Lorenzo Burgos and Kim Mangrobang, emerged victorious in the 1K division with respective finishing times of 3:01 and 3:44. The prize for each winning combination was Php 5,000. Php 3,000 was awarded to the runner-ups, Dino, whose owner is Rommel Espinoza (3:55), and Bart, whose owner is Jenna Belardo (5:49). Third place was shared by Asahi, owned by Alvin Catiang (4:34), and Summit, owned by Lady Isis Cabanatan (7:03); each team earned Php 2,000.
Supporting Canine Companions, Community, and Camaraderie Beyond the Finish Line
Run Ortigas was remarkable for more than the remarkable velocity demonstrated along the racecourse; the event also generated a contagious sense of enthusiasm that permeated the entire community.
