The SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation’s (SMHCC) Park Inn by Radisson Davao celebrated the arrival of the holidays on November 9 with the Christmas Tree Lighting event, which illuminated the hotel.

Upon entering, patrons were greeted by the focal point of the occasion—a mesmerizing 8-foot white Christmas tree adorned with colossal white Christmas ornaments plated in silver and gold. Elegantly positioned between lampposts and accompanied by a delightful bench in front to create the ideal photographic moment, it aptly embodied the hotel’s White Christmas theme.

Guests of distinction from the Davao City Tourism Office and the Department of Tourism Region XI Regional Director, Ms. Tanya Rabat-Tan, were warmly received by the Park Inn by Radisson Davao staff, which was under the direction of General Manager Sven Toune. In attendance were media acquaintances, government executives, city councilors, foreign consuls, city tourism officials and stakeholders, SM executives, and corporate guests, all adorned in elaborate White Christmas attire.

The evening commenced with an entrancing performance by En Avant Dance & Arts Centre, who presented a rendition of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker: Sugarplum Fairy Variation. Dolce Chordarum Strings provided the euphonious melodies and quartets. GM Toune and Director Rabat-Tan subsequently exchanged sincere Christmas greetings.

“We are honoring the concept of a ‘White Christmas’ this year through our slogan, ‘Cherish the Bliss of Christmas.’” Guests and visitors are cordially invited to experience a White Christmas—the Park Inn by Radisson Davao way—brimming with enchantment and amazement. “We eagerly await anecdotes that recount your touching and memorable moments commemorated within the hotel’s premises,” GM Toune added.

Christmas is a time to reignite acts of benevolence, motivate individuals to be kind, and spread joy; for the Park Inn by Radisson Davao, it also signifies the occasion to bestow joy upon the local community. In keeping with a longstanding tradition and in support of Radisson Cares, the hotel is organizing Cookie for a Cause for the third consecutive year. A fraction of the revenue will be allocated towards providing assistance to the Davao School for the Blind. The pastries are available at the hotel’s Christmas Store from November 9, 2023 to January 6, 2024.

The highly anticipated Christmas tree lighting, which was presided over by the hotel’s department managers and Mr. Sven Toune, was the highlight of the evening. Dr. Maria Margaret Misa Antonio, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees for the Davao School for the Blind, and Ms. Tanya Rabat-Tan also participated. Commencing the holiday season in a festive spirit, the property’s exterior and interior were adorned with sparkling lights and joyful expressions.

The jubilant festivities persisted at VANDA, the hotel’s all-day dining establishment, where a series of enthralling performances were presented by En Avant Dance & Arts Centre and Dolce Chordarum Strings in conjunction with the dinner.
