Darlene Is Ready To Reintroduce Herself With Bubbly Debut Track “Daydream”
This is not just a return.
She’s back, and better than ever. Darlene is set to captivate everyone’s heart with her debut single “Daydream,” making a fantastic start to her career by stating that THIS IS HER NOW.
The now-19-year-old singer first won people’s hearts by competing in a popular singing competition show nearly a decade ago. Her cover of Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” created an impact and affected people, showcasing her vocal prowess. Darlene continued her education, and in 2022, she made her debut with SBTown’s first girl group, YGIG. Darlene contributed her dynamic stage presence and powerful vocals to YGIG’s breakthrough hit, “Shaba Shaba,” however due to health issues, she had to quit the group to rest.
But in 2024, Darlene is ready to show everyone that she is now! She is prepared to pave a new path as an officially returning solo artist with the release of her debut single “DayDream”. Darlene is supervised by SBTown’s CEO, Mr. Geong Seong Han, SBTalent Camp’s South Korean trainer, Ms. Adelaide Hong, and co-managed by Universal Records’ Ms. Kathleen Dy-Go.
“Daydream” tells a gripping story of conflicting emotions, in which doubt and denial coexist with horrible desires for someone precious. The song delves into the intriguing and challenging stage of falling in love, portraying the essence of perplexity and staunch rejection of these intricate emotions.
Darlene expressed gratitude and honor for the opportunity to collaborate with Korean producers on this upbeat song, which reflects the swirl of feelings experienced when love blossoms. It was produced in South Korea and has a distinct hip-hop sound, complete with kitsch trap beats and hyperpop guitar chopping that highlight her diverse voice, melodic skill, and fresh, energetic delivery.
The official music video for “Daydream” (Version 1) has also been released.
