Korean Singer WOODZ live in Manila this June 17

Cho Seungyoun, also known as WOODZ, is a singer-songwriter, lyricist, and producer from South Korea. Between 2014 & 2019, he was a member of idol groups, but in between, he explored his craft and music as a solo artist. His career took off when he decided to go by the name ‘WOODZ’ in 2020. The title track of his debut EP Equal, “Love Me Harder,” has received over 20 million plays on Spotify.

Throughout the years of musical exploration, WOODZ has successfully established a name for itself in the industry and amassed a large fanbase in South Korea and around the globe. Even before launching a solo career, his magnetic pull on fans was strong enough to propel him to the top 5 of a South Korean Idol Survival Show. He has also been nominated for numerous music awards and won the Best Icon Award at the 2021 Asia Artists Awards.

As a solo artist, WOODZ is highly involved in the songwriting and production of most of his music. He is well-versed in all aspects of music production and is renowned as a versatile artist. In recent years, he has effectively released the second EP Woops! (2020), the full-length album Set (2020), and the third EP Only Lovers Left (2020) with the hit singles “Kiss of Fire” and “Waiting.” With this album, he won his first solo competition on The Show.

This February 2023, WOODZ released his latest single, “Abyss,” which is a mellow song about solace and self-love. The release of this single was followed by the announcement of his 2023 WOODZ WORLD TOUR [OO-LI] world tour. This world tour examines the complexity and beauty of individuality as WOODZ seeks to demonstrate his immense talent to all his fans.
