MAMAMOO’s SOLAR brings [COLOURS] to Manila: ‘The best kayo!’
We are indeed happy people as MAMAMOO’s leader SOLAR gave everything we wanted from touching musicals and heartfelt ballads to a heart-thumping rave party for “SOLAR 2ND CONCERT [COLOURS] in Manila on Sunday, June 16.
Our mhiema (queen mother) as PH Yongsoons calls her, brings brightness and happiness at The Theatre at Solaire with the opening tracks of her recent release “Colors,” “RAW”, and
“Spit it out.”
Fans are spoiled with a sweet treat as it is followed by the artist’s loving honey set “Honey Honey,” “HONEY BEE,” and “HONEY (feat Hani and Luna).”
There’s no doubt that she is a strong vocalist as she belted amazing notes of “Where The Wind Blows,” “Only Longing Grows,” and “Although I Loved.”
In addition, she is really a SOLARounder as she stuns her fans with a VCR with humorous skits and song covers of “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce, “Chandelier” by Sia, “Oops I Did It Again” by Britney Spears.
The South Korean artist returns on stage with a sparkling pink outfit with a funky and jazz performance of “BIG BOOTY.” It is then followed by a short performance from a Korean musical “Mata Hari” in which she acted in 2022. She also dedicated “Easy Peasy” to fans having a “sad heart.”
“My mental is a bit difficult but here today I will show the best show in Manila because of Manila Yongsuns, I am getting a lot of strength,” Solar added.

As a surprise for PH Yongsuns, Solar performed BINI’s most streamed song on Spotify “Pantropiko” and the crowd went crazy and sang along with the hit song.
She continued to interact with fans and also came prepared as she tried to speak in Filipino, “Ang saya ko, sobrang saya ko.”
The MAMAMOO’s vocalist just keeps on mothering as she sings snippets of “Unholy” by Sam Smith and fan song requests “Adrenaline,” “Blue Bird,” “zinggle zinggle,” and “Oops I did It Again.”
As she walked around the theater, lucky fans had the opportunity to take pictures with her.
Did you know that she was an international student in the Philippines? She mentioned trying balut when she was in 3rd grade. We are now manifesting for a Solarsido episode with Filipino foods!
The collective energy of the crowd manifested in “Paradise” and the three-hour concert “SOLAR 2ND CONCERT [COLOURS] in Manila concluded with “Colors”. The event is organized by Three Angles Production.
Discovering Solar: Facts about MAMAMOO’s Leader
Kim Yongsun popularly known by her stage name Solar is set to meet Yongsoons in her upcoming “2ND CONCERT [COLOURS] TOUR” at The Theatre at Solaire on June 16.
While some are familiar with her powerful vocals and leadership skills, there are numerous parts of her life and career that reveal why she continues to be a fascinating K-Pop artist.
A Decade of Career
Under RBW Entertainment, Solar trained for three years and debuted as a member and vocalist of MAMAMOO on June 18, 2014. Also, the singer-songwriter entered her soloist era with the single “Spit It Out” on April 23, 2020.

“I was releasing my solo album for the first time, I tried to show the raw side of myself to capture my true self in the album,” she revealed why she chose a shaved head in a music video.
She is also known for pushing boundaries of K-Pop as seen with her confidence in hairstyles such as half and half dyed hair and straight eyebrows.

Versatile Actress
Aside from her idol quests, Solar showcased her powerful musical range through her theatrical debut in “Mata Hari” in 2022. In this new role, she was nominated for “Best New Actress” category at the 7th Korea Musical Awards.
