GlobalBENCHsetter ENHYPEN returned to Manila for ‘A Sweet Experience’ fun meet with the lifestyle and clothing brand BENCH. Ahead of their scheduled event on May 28,2024, the seven members of the group—Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki graced a press conference, looking cool and wearing BENCH outfits.

Hosted by Sam Oh, the press con had ENHYPEN talking about their fashion sense, musical inspiration, and more. Just a day before their fan event, ENHYPEN met with the press and shared more about themselves. Here’s everything we learned about the global superstars

Familiarity with the Tagalog words

Enhypen’s multiple visits to the Philippines have allowed them to pick up some Tagalog words and phrases. As they entered the press room, the members greeted everyone with “Kumusta” (Hello).

Sunoo delighted the press by showcasing his knowledge of common Tagalog expressions like “Salamat po” (Thank you) and “Pogi” (Handsome).

The Fashion Icon

While all members of Enhypen are known for their distinct fashion sense, Jay singled out Sunghoon as the most fashionable. “I think Sunghoon is the best because he’s well aware of trends,” Jay stated.

Additionally, Ni-ki and Jay shared their current fashion preferences. Ni-ki is currently into streetwear, while Jay prefers loose, oversized fits.

Dream Destinations

The Philippines is known for its stunning travel destinations, and Sunghoon expressed his desire to visit two of the country’s most famous spots: Cebu and Boracay.

Both places are known for their beautiful beaches and water sports. Sunghoon mentioned his interest in jet skiing, hopes that the group will soon get to explore these tropical paradises.

Love for Dried Mangoes

Heeseung revealed his fondness for a popular Filipino snack: dried mangoes. He mentioned that he always looks forward to snacking on them whenever he is in the Philippines.

In fact, he had enjoyed some just a day before the press event, underscoring his appreciation for local delicacies.

Fan Interactions

Despite their busy schedules, the members make time to interact with Engenes. Ni-ki shared that the group enjoys watching reaction videos posted by their fans and frequently communicates with them on platforms like Weverse and X.

Favorite Songs

When asked about their favorite songs, Jungwon chose “Bite Me” from their album Dark Blood. He described it as a dark fantasy-type love story where the male lead can only claim love through blood.

Other notable tracks from Dark Blood include “Fate,” “Bills,” and “Sacrifice (Eat Me Up).”

Musical Inspiration

The group emphasized that their musical inspiration comes from their fans. They believe that without ENGENEs, there would be no ENHYPEN, showcasing their deep appreciation and respect for the people who support them.

For Filipino Engenes who haven’t seen Enhypen yet, there’s still hope. The group loves visiting the Philippines and plans to return.

Jake summed up their feelings by saying, “Whenever we come here, the energy is incredible. When we perform in front of them, they always give out the best energy. We have so many good memories here in the Philippines; that’s why we always come back.”
