Philippines to participate in ASEAN Tourism Forum 2024 in Lao PDR
DOT and TPB Philippines are preparing to present the Philippines’ rich and diverse tourism offerings at the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2024, which will take place in Vientiane, Laos, from January 22 to 27.
ASEAN as a whole is promoted as a tourist destination through the ATF, a cooperative regional effort. Philippines is poised to showcase its tourism offerings and emphasize its resolute commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism practices under the theme ‘Quality and Responsible Tourism – Sustaining ASEAN Future’.
Through ATF 2024, government bodies and private sector organizations will discuss advancing sustainable tourism and eco-friendly practices in the ASEAN region. From January 24 to 26, the forum will host a three-day Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) to facilitate business-to-business meetings, trade, and promotion of ASEAN destinations.
The ASEAN Tourism Forum is an excellent opportunity for the Philippines to present our distinct tourism offerings to a global audience while also highlighting our efforts to promote sustainable tourism. TRAVEX will feature 15 Philippine exhibitors from the airline industry, hotels and resorts, tour operators/destination management companies, and convention centers. Notable exhibitors in the accommodation sector include the Lihim Resorts, El Nido by Araw Hospitality Inc., Best Western Plus Metro Clark, Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort, Jpark Island Resort & Waterpark Mactan Cebu, Tambuli Seaside Resort and Spa, Araneta Hotels Inc. (Novotel Manila Araneta City), AJ Coffee and Bed (Kaulayaw Coffee), and ALI Makati Hotel Property Inc – Raffles and Fairmont Hotel Makati.
Tourism operators include Quasar Travel and Tours, Uni Orient Travel Inc., Marsman Drysdale Travel, Inc., Annset Holidays Inc., and CTPH Tour. As one of the country’s MICE suppliers, SMX Convention Center will join the exhibitors’ lineup, while Philippine Airlines will represent the airline industry.
Moreover, the Philippines will present comprehensive updates on its tourism industry during a media briefing on January 24.
A late-night function will be held on January 26 by the TPB and DOT for international buyers, Philippine private sector sellers, and international media to enhance the Philippines’ global presence. Guests will enjoy traditional Philippine and Laos cuisine, as well as spectacular cultural performances, as well as a blend of traditional Filipino and Laos cuisine.
