The new Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, a vibrant upper midscale hotel in the City of Smiles, celebrated its grand opening with a joyful holiday greeting.

The day’s activities began with a press conference with members of the local media, formally establishing the company’s presence in Bacolod City. “The opening of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod marks another turning point in SMHCC’s history, as it provides Bacolodnons with the city’s first international-branded hotel.” As a result, SMHCC reaffirms its commitment to expanding its brand portfolio and raising the bar in hospitality,” said Ms. Peggy E. Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp.

A delicious merienda feast featuring local Ilonggo specialties capped off the press conference.

Later, media guests were escorted to Art Cove, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod’s little art gallery, for the opening of the gallery’s first-ever exhibition. Ms. Christina Bautista’s “Images of Negros” and Ms. Joan Horidez’s “Tale of Marapara” are included side by side in this exhibition.
“Art Cove is a reflection of the region’s residents’ and the SM Group’s shared passion for the arts.” In his address, Sherwin Lucas, General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, said, “Through Art Cove, we hope to help the province foster and nurture new talents by serving as an avenue to expose Negrosnanon art to travelers and magnify the province’s art tourism.”

Following the opening exhibit program, guests were brought to the Marapara Plaza (Pool Deck) on the second floor of the hotel to witness the unveiling of the marker for Negros’ largest mural, followed by the Christmas launch event. As the guests settled in for the evening festivities, a string band serenaded them with classical music. The event was attended by Mayor Bing Leonardia and city administrator Atty. Edward Cuansing.

The De La Salle chorale Bacolod and Vien King, an invited singer/host and commercial model, performed at the Christmas launch.
Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod teamed with Kalipay Negrense Bacolod to keep the Christmas spirit alive and boost the hotel’s corporate social responsibility program. A portion of the hotel’s holiday hamper sales will go to the foundation to fund the charity’s basic requirements, which include a home for needy youngsters.

To add to the festive season’s excitement, the hotel produced special, regionally inspired beverages and sweets that speak of the holidays.
