EXO’s Chanyeol at Penshoppe Press Conference in Manila

Keeping his promise to his Filipino fans, CHANYEOL went back to the Philippines for his BIGGEST Manila fan meeting to date. The SM Mall of Asia Arena was packed by EXO-Ls and Yeolmaes, all ending their year with the Cherry Prince himself.

But before the big night, South Korean rapper and singer-songwriter CHANYEOL had an exclusive press conference with the media and some of his lucky fans at the Conrad Manila. Here’s a sneak peek at his enjoyable interview a few hours before the fan conference.

CHANYEOL talks about his Personal Style

CHANYEOL has been in the industry for more than a decade now. His fans have seen him evolve into a talented, witty, and charming idol since his debut in 2012. We have supported him as a group member of EXO, and for his solo activities. Along with this is seeing his personal style change, too.

“When I was young, I thought I preferred street fashion looks. I still like those, but I like modern or adult styles more,” he said. “I am exercising more these days. I am wearing Penshoppe more these days because it fits my body more. The shirt I’m wearing for my rehearsal is from Penshoppe; I actually wear it daily,” the best endorser added.

CHANYEOL on Visiting the Philippines

The Kpop idol has been going back to the Philippines a lot this year, including a fan meeting with his co-EXO member Sehun. His return in December marks his biggest fan meeting in Manila to date, and he can’t hide his excitement in seeing his Filipino fans once again before the year ends.

“I was able to visit the Philippines a lot this year,” CHANYEOL said. “Filipinos are very passionate. Whenever I go here I receive a lot of energy, which I also look forward to today.”

CHANYEOL is very grateful for all the opportunities he has been receiving, especially for the chance to meet his Filo Yeolmaes and EXO-Ls through various projects. Although he has performed a lot on stage for his fans, he has little opportunity to talk about fashion and styling. This Penshoppe fan conference was the perfect stage for him to showcase a different side of him once again.

Aside from seeing his EXO-Ls, CHANYEOL was also excited about another thing. “Whenever I check my SNS, I see my huge Penshoppe billboard. I want to see that. I would like to go shopping in a Penshoppe store. I heard there’s a large one in SM Mall of Asia. I would like to see my picture there too.”

CHANYEOL as an Artist

“My inspiration in writing “Good Enough” came from the dramas, people around me, when I visit different places and see people and what they do. I get inspired by those.”

One of the exciting things CHANYEOL’s fans looked forward to for his Penshoppe show was his performances as a solo artist. While he has been involved in many projects, he has yet to fully showcase himself as a solo artist.

“I want to release a solo album,” he added.

When asked if he can trade positions with other members of his team, here’s what he responded, “Honestly there are no positions I would like to change. Every member has their own charming points, and they can express themselves really well. I think I am beautiful as I am, just like each and every member.”

His assured personality makes it even more exciting to see what CHANYEOL can bring to the stage as a solo artist. Beyond artistry or creativity, his wish is for his music to give energy and hope for his viewers. “But also I wish that my music is easy to sing with and enjoy,” he added.

“Whenever I perform in front of you guys, it’s not like I am just showcasing something, but I am also enjoying it with you guys.”

True enough, he was able to share not only his talent, but also captured the hearts of his fans even more because of his sincerity.

CHANYEOL’s Advice to His Fans

“How dare I give advice to you guys?” said the charming idol. “But I have this one thing I can say to you, it’s do as you wish. Whether it’s in your profession or relationships, the important thing is to follow your heart. Because whatever you will do, you will have no regrets.”

“Let’s make today the best day of our lives. I am ready!” he added.

CHANYEOL left the presscon stage with loud cheers and huge smiles on everybody’s faces who were present at that time. His warmth is contagious, the anticipation for the big night grew even more.
