Chanyeol delighted Filo EXO-Ls and Yeolmaes during his PENSHOPPE’s Fan Meeting in Manila
PENSHOPPE brought in the latest addition to their roster of global ambassadors, EXO’s Park Chan-yeol, or CHANYEOL, for short, to the Philippines for an exclusive fan meet last December 16! The event, which was held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, was CHANYEOL’s largest fan gathering in Manila to date, bringing joy to admirers just in time for the holidays.
The multi-talented performer began off the concert with a slick rendition of EXO-SC’s “Nothin,” while dressed in pieces from PENSHOPPE’s Holiday Collection.
Host Kring Kim formally welcomed fans and kicked off the show with a “Keeping Up with CHANYEOL Segment,” in which The Cherry Prince himself got to choose from a variety of oversized envelopes, each containing questions that allowed fans to get to know the KPOP sensation in a more personal way.
Following that, the audience swooned collectively as the “Happy Virus” launched into a fun quick talk-style part in which he addressed questions submitted by members of the audience. Following that, supporters were given the opportunity to demonstrate their prowess and amaze CHANYEOL during the “Don’t Mess Up my Tempo!” segment, during which he observed fans perform dance videos produced by PENSHOPPE. To add even more color to the evening, he accepted the challenge of guessing which songs the routines were originally choreographed to. The segment demonstrated CHANYEOLis’ connection to his fans while also displaying the idol’s fun side.
CHANYEOL then demonstrated his artistic abilities by designing five PENSHOPPE tees with art tools offered onstage. Following that, these one-of-a-kind designs were raffled off for the audience. Fans were even more enthralled by CHANYEOL’s declaration of love for them when he was challenged by the host to repeat “Mahal Kita” with various facial expressions. The degree of enchantment was measured on-screen using a Kilig Meter.
Fans were also able to express their admiration for CHANYEOL firsthand through voice notes transmitted during the concert, as well as a fan sign large enough for CHANYEOL to read from stage.
To round off the emotional part, CHANYEOL was reaffirmed as the fans’ “Cherry Prince” with a crown and every member of the crowd wearing their own Cherry-adorned crowns in celebration of his being their actual Cherry Prince!
CHANYEOL performed fan favorites throughout the evening, including Tomorrow, SSFW, Rodeo Station, and his most recent hit single, Good Enough.
As an outgrowth of his ongoing fancon tour, PENSHOPPE’s fan meet is not only an idyllic conclusion to his busiest year to date in the Philippines, but it is also his first time performing several of his songs solo in Manila.
