There are still three more to go. Our Paboritong Makata continues his lyrical journey with what will be his Pilak album, a musical celebration of his 25 years in the Philippine music industry.

Gloc-9 will release “Di Umiinom,” the fifth single from his upcoming 10th-anniversary album, before the end of August. This time, he will be joined by Hero, another young artist from Asintada Management.

When someone is hurt and reaches their breaking point, they may do things they don’t usually do or have never done before. Maybe they do that to deal with all the pain and sadness they feel. This is how the experienced rapper came up with the song “Di Umiinom.”

In this extraordinary track, he asks the rising hip-hop star Hero to add his technical bars and well-honed rhymes to make the whole thing even better. Their verses together are captivating, enticing, and full of sadness as they tell the sad and painful story with all their heart. This song’s theme is new and different from what Makata Sa Pinas has done before, which is why he is so excited about this release. Also, Thyro Alfaro again did an excellent job mixing and arranging the music.

Aaron Maagma directed and edited a lively music video that goes with this special release.

Gloc-9 and other famous local acts went on a tour of the US for the OPM Summerfest events there, so he could no longer film his parts here in the Philippines. But our Paboritong Makata found a way to get his parts for the music video done, largely thanks to Mark Escueta, whose band Rivermaya was in the same concert series as him. During the New York leg of the tour, they shot it with his trusted Samsung S22+, or “Para-paraan lang talaga” in his own words. Hero’s parts, however, were shot at Tipsy Pig in Quezon City.

This is the third time the Gloc-9 and Hero have worked together. The last two times, more than 1.2 million people watched the videos on YouTube. Under Universal Records, “Di Umiinom” is now available to stream on all digital platforms.
