Netflix Reveals ONE PIECE TRAILER In Celebration Of Shueisha’s ONE PIECE DAY
The Live-Action Series from Shueisha and Tomorrow Studios Launches on Netflix on August 31.
In honor of ONE PIECE Day, Netflix has released the official trailer for the highly anticipated live-action series ONE PIECE, along with new images and a letter from Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the global phenomenon.
The August 31 premiere of ONE PIECE, a legendary high-seas adventure starring Iaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji, will be exclusive to Netflix.
Oda-Sensei discussed the live-action adaptation, production, changes from the manga, and the cast and personnel. Examples include:

So much went into it, including the actors’ efforts, the creation of the world and the costumes, the dialogue, and presenting things in a manner that can only be done in live action. The entire process of so many people collaborating was a celebration in and of itself.

Based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga series with the highest manga sales in Japanese history, ONE PIECE is a legendary high-seas adventure unlike any other. Monkey D. Luffy is a youthful adventurer who has always desired a life of independence. Luffy embarks on a perilous journey from his small village to locate the legendary treasure, ONE PIECE, in order to become the Pirate King! Steven Maeda and Matt Owens are writers, executive producers, and showrunners. Additionally, Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein, and Becky Clements produce the show. Vincent Regan, Ilia Isorels Paulino, Morgan Davies, Aidan Scott, Langley Kirkwood, Jeff Ward, Celeste Loots, Alexander Maniatis, McKinley Belcher III, Craig Fairbrass, Steven Ward, and Chioma Umeala are among the additional cast members. Michael Dorman will play Gold Roger in the production. Additional ensemble members are forthcoming.
