Visit Ayala Malls Cinemas and watch classic films such as “Interview with the Vampire,” “Gremlins,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” and “The Towering Inferno” on the big screen, where they are intended to be viewed.

In certain Asian cultures, the commemoration of Ghost Month every August is a long-standing custom. It is believed that the energies of the deceased visit the living during this period. This year’s Thrill Fest by Ayala Malls Cinemas has been renamed “Thrill Fest: The Ghost Month Classic Film Series” in honor of this tradition. The event features an electrifying selection of suspense films.

From August 21 to September 3, Ayala Malls Cinemas will present a frightfully impressive lineup of classic Hollywood horror and thriller films that are commemorating their anniversaries this year. This rare opportunity for cineastes to experience “Interview with the Vampire” (30th anniversary), “Gremlins” (40th anniversary), “A Nightmare on Elm Street” (40th anniversary), and “The Towering Inferno” (50th anniversary) on the big screen is available for a limited time only. Prepare yourself for two weeks of unforgettable moments, shocks, and chills that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable experience at the movies this Ghost Month. This year’s Thrill Fest lineup of remastered classics is summarized below:

200-year-old vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Brad Pitt) recounts his life story to reporter Daniel Molloy (Christian Slater) in “Interview with the Vampire,” which spans two centuries of desire, love, yearning, sorrow, terror, ecstasy, and regret. This film adaptation was nominated for two Academy Awards and is based on Anne Rice’s bestselling 1976 novel of the same name.

GREMLINS (Available August 21 – 27)

40th Anniversary. Released in 1984

Starring: Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton

Randall Peltzer (Hoyt Axton), a struggling inventor in the idyllic small community of Kingston Falls, returns home with an unusual pet named a Mogwai as a gift for his son Billy (Zach Galligan). The Mogwai’s care is straightforward provided that the following three principles are adhered to: never feed the Mogwai after midnight, keep him away from water, and avoid exposing him to bright lights. However, the regulations are violated, and the repercussions are escalating at an alarming rate. Despite the presence of creatures that may be fearsome, “Gremlins,” which was written by Christopher Columbus (“Home Alone” 1 and 2, the first three “Harry Potter” movies), is a delightful viewing experience for the entire family.

NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (Available August 28 – September 3)

Starring: Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, Johnny Depp, John Saxon

In the terrifying nightmares of his killers’ children, a man who was murdered returns as a hideously scarred monster, as they begin to die in their slumber one by one. Wes Craven, the master of the horror slasher genre, was responsible for the creation of this classic horror film and its emblematic villain, Freddy Krueger (the “Scream” franchise).
