In a triumphant return to Philippines, the legendary guitarist Slash, alongside Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, electrified audiences at the SM North EDSA Skydome with a mesmerizing performance on their River Is Rising Tour in Manila.

Slash last visit to the Philippines was in 2018, as part of the “Gun N’ Roses” Not In This Lifetime tour. Hundreds of metalheads, many wearing “Gun N’ Roses” shirts and “Slash” t-shirts, waited patiently in line for the show.

Born as Saul Hudson, Slash is known for his extreme dedication to his fans. After attending the 96th Academy Awards ceremony, he flew to Manila to join Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators for their performance on March 12, 2024. The Black Sonic Pearls hyped up the Filipino crowd with their electrifying performance and witty personalities.

After the Black Sonic Pearls’ performance, the metal crowd went wild when Slash, donning his trademark top hat and electric guitar, finally walked onto the stage. Myles Kennedy screamed “Make some noise Manila,” and the night began with their song “Driving Rain.”

Although Myles Kennedy had his moments, it was bassist Todd Kerns who stole the show with his electrifying guitar skills, pleasing personality and screams. Todd Kerns encouraged the crowd to clap along to their hit songs while constantly throwing guitar picks to the crowd.

The band played many of their hit songs such as “C’est la vie” , “Actions Speak Louder Than Words”, “Wicked Stone” and more. Myles Kennedy, an animal lover, wore a cat t-shirt to the stage and talked about his love for animals. He asked the crowd to show their fur babies on their cell phones while they performed their song, and he gamely acknowledged each fan showing their favorite dog or cat on their cell phones with an infectious smile.

The Filipino metal crowd was in awe of the iconic guitarist during Slash’s 10-minute guitar solo, which got them off their feet. After performing “You’re a Lie” and “World on Fire,” Myles Kennedy introduced each band member to the crowd.

When he finally called up the legendary guitarist, he said, “I love this guy, will you please give it up for the one and only, SLASH!” The crowd roared with approval, but the ever-humble guitarist returned the compliment by saying, “Give it up to Mr. Marvelous, Mr. amazing, Myles Motherf**king Kennedy.”

After the band finished their set, the crowd demanded an encore. The band obliged and played covers of “Rocket Man (I Think It’s Going to Be a Long, Long Time)” and “Anastasia”.
