2022 Seoul Festa: The Largest Tourism Festival In Seoul To Attract More Foreign Travelers

The opening ceremony for this event, which will be broadcast on KBS2 TV tomorrow, has been rescheduled for this Friday at 8:30 PM KST due to heavy rainfall and flooding in Korea

It’s less than a week until Seoul hosts its first large-scale worldwide event in advance of the COVID-19 epidemic. The Seoul Metropolitan Government is planning various visual and auditory spectacles that it believes will attract tourists from all across the city.

On August 10, Seoul Festa 2022 will open in Jamsil, Songpa District, Seoul. The festival, hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and planned collaboratively by the government and thousands of local private firms, will last through August 14. In addition to the main activities at Jamsil Sports Complex, smaller events will also occur in Yeouido, Gwanghwamun, and the Han River.

Enjoy the performance by K-pop stars

The city will kick off the festival with a K-pop explosion. The opening ceremony will feature performances by over a dozen K-pop acts, including NCT Dream, Stray Kids, Rain, PSY,  and male vocal quartet Forestella, which will be broadcast live on television in 118 countries via KBS World. Tickets for the event sold out within 5 minutes of their release on Wemakeprice last July 29.

According to the Seoul Tourism Organization, which arranged the festival’s opening ceremony, as many as 52,000 individuals stormed the online mall simultaneously for the tickets.

Watch The World’s Largest Electric Vehicle Race

The 2022 Hana Bank Seoul E-Prix will hold the 15th and 16th double-header rounds of racing for the world’s fastest electric vehicles, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.  Eleven groups from the United States, England, China, Monaco, Germany, India, and France,  will battle inside and around Jamsil Sports Complex.

Explore And Experience Electric Cars Attractions

E-fans worldwide can also enjoy the Seoul E-Prix as it promotes its eco-friendliness by being the first international sports category to earn a certification for net-zero carbon emissions. 

The event will also display electric cars and urban aerial mobility attractions outside the stadium for festival-goers to explore and experience, including a simulator for driving a Formula E race car.

Next, Seoul Mobility, a pavilion constructed within Jamsil Sports Complex, will give visitors an up-close glimpse of the city’s future traffic conditions.

Largest Sales And Cultural Events In Seoul

During a music festival from August 11 to 13, W&W, Fedde Grande, Galantis, and other DJs will amp up the excitement at a stadium adjacent to the Jamsil Sports Complex.

Approximately 3,000 private companies in the hotel, beauty, experience hotspots, and other tourism-related industries will provide a 50% discount on their merchandise during Seoul Festa. These deals are being conducted in conjunction with the annual Korea Grand Sale, which the Ministry of Culture hosts along with sports, and tourism.

Water Sports & Movie-themed Festival

One of the festival’s other essential locations is the Han River, and it includes events for tourists interested in boating and windsurfing, as well as picture exhibitions by amateur photographers and international sculpture shows. 

Enjoy The Night At Sungnyemun Square

Those who choose to spend more time in the vicinity of Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul, which will unveil its newly rebuilt public space on Saturday after 21 months of renovation, will be able to watch the opening ceremony and the Seoul E-Prix in Jamsil on giant outdoor screens.
