Avatar: The Way of Water hits Disney+ this June

The long wait is almost over! After a historic theatrical run, the global phenomenon “Avatar: The Way of Water” by James Cameron will premiere on Disney+ on June 7.

“Avatar: The Way of Water” became the third highest-grossing film of all time worldwide, with roughly $2.32 billion at the box office upon its release on December 16. In addition to being nominated for multiple Academy Awards®, including Best Picture, the film established a new standard for visual effects.

The 20th Century Studios-Lightstorm Entertainment production, produced by Cameron and his longstanding partner Jon Landau, stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaa, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, and Kate Winslet.

Talented newcomers Britain Dalton, Jamie Flatters, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss, Bailey Bass, and Jack Champion join the distinguished adult cast. Story by James Cameron, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman, and Shane Salerno. Screenplay by James Cameron, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver. David Valdes and Richard Baneham are the executive producers of the film.

In this emotionally charged action adventure, “Avatar: The Way of Water” reaches new heights and explores uncharted depths as James Cameron returns to the world of Pandora. Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, “Avatar: The Way of Water” introduces the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their children), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to protect each other, the battles they fight to survive, and the tragedies they endure.

All of this occurs against the breathtaking seascapes of Pandora, where new Na’vi cultures and a variety of exotic marine creatures are introduced to the audience.
