On January 26, South Korean indie rock band, The Rose, returned to the Philippines bringing their DAWN TO DUSK 2024 tour held at the Araneta Coliseum. Equipped with their official light sticks and a handmade sign, fans quickly filled the venue with excitement prior the start of the show.

On stage, the band’s instruments were perfectly arranged while microphone stands were adorned with official logo. A large LCD screen was poised to project unique graphics throughout the night and two supplemental screens on each side of the venue ensured a great view from all angles.

The evening officially opened when the band silhouettes suddenly appeared against intense strobing lights and rolling fog on the spacious stage. PH Black Roses could no longer contain their excitement and screams overlapped with the music as each member entered.

The concert began with the haunting chords of “Eclipse“. Woosung’s seamless transition into “You’re Beautiful” initiated a symphony of voices as Black Roses harmonized with the lyrics, creating a fusion of sound and emotion.

Dojoon’s switch from keyboards to acoustic guitar for “Shift” brought a serene moment, juxtaposed by Woosung’s intense guitar solo that energize the atmosphere.

Woosung acknowledged the Filipino audience’s singing voice, saying, “You guys are truly Filipinos because everybody here is good at singing. Today’s concert is The Rose featuring Black Roses.” This connection between the band and their fans, paving the way for a night of shared energy.

The concert continued with their hit-songs, “RED,” “Nauseous,” and “Back to Me.” The PH Black Roses were captivated by the band’s performance as they echoed the group’s energy note for note.

A brief intermission marked the transition to the second half of the night, accompanied by a short intermission of “Dusk.”

The Rose continued to perform with fan-favorite tracks such as “Alive,” “Take Me Down,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Each song was accompanied by a sea of coordinated light sticks from the Black Roses, moving through the various color schemes of the songs, such as red and green.

As the night progressed, The Rose shared their humble beginnings and expressing gratitude.“We’ve been together for 7 years. We have started music a place called Hongdae in Korea. We street performed and when we had our first official show in this very small venue not like this, we had a 15 – 20 people more than half of them were friends.
