“We wanted visitors to enjoy the outdoors in comfort.”
Host Dennis enjoys exploring new places to stay and doing so on a regular basis. When the idea of owning a vacation home entered his head, he decided to take on the challenge of developing a brand-new, thrilling vacation rental never before seen in the Philippines, and as a result, the first Airstream lodging in the nation was born.
Dennis’s passion for the Airstream inspired him to take the initiative to bring the recognizable vintage trailer to the Philippines. The 25-footer 1970s caravanner, which he personally designed and built with visitors in mind, enables them to camp in the bush while enjoying all the luxuries of home, including a queen-sized bed, kitchenette, dining area, and outdoor grill. Since listing the Airstream in March 2021, he has experienced incredibly high guest interest, and he is already developing two additional distinctive residences that he will shortly offer on Airbnb.
When our guests told us that we had encouraged them to construct their own vacation rentals, Dennis adds, “That was one of the most memorable talks I’ve ever had with guests. I don’t hold back when it comes to sharing my own design and construction knowledge and experiences because doing so has led to interactions and friendships that go beyond hosting. We’ve already had a few visitors who went on to create their own Airbnb stays!
“Our house offers a different degree of satisfaction when shared with others.”

The Lahluna, created by husband-and-wife team Hazel and Jose Romualdez, was influenced by the well-known hobbit-themed attraction in New Zealand. The pair made it a point to incorporate sustainability and ecological into their house because they are both very interested in these topics. The outcome is a tranquil, lush, and eco-friendly getaway from the city.
The Lahluna uses wind and solar energy to power itself, and the grasses and vines that grow up the domes act as insulation to keep the inside cool and comfortable. During their stay, visitors are also urged to recycle, reuse, and reduce waste.
“We are always thrilled when visitors return to our home to unwind and take pleasure in calm moments away from the city. Parents would reserve our area, especially during the pandemic lockdown, so that their kids could play outside with our bunnies and everyone could get some fresh air, recalls Hazel.

Since 2015, Michael, an interior designer, has hosted guests on Airbnb. His Jeepney Camper is the most outlandish and well-liked of the many unusual residences he offers on Airbnb.
As recreational vehicles (RVs) have grown in popularity in recent years, Michael had the idea of creating his own localized RV using the Philippine jeepney, the nation’s “king of the road.” He made the decision to include a second level and an extended roof in order to overcome the jeepney’s low ceiling height. As a consequence, a cozy lodging area with a queen-sized bed, air conditioning, and a little kitchen is created. This unique residence, which offers a pool and a space for a bonfire for the ultimate camping experience, is situated directly in the rainforests of Sierra Madre.
“The key to keeping your visitors happy is to always be hands-on, therefore my advice for potential Airbnb hosts is to do the same. Hosting will undoubtedly be worthwhile after you see all the great comments, according to Michael.
