Chanyeol Rocks Manila with his ‘City-Scape’ concert

EXO member Chanyeol went all out for his solo concert in the Philippines, held on Saturday, October 19, at the Araneta Coliseum, transforming the venue into a sea of Eribong lightstick-waving fans. Presented by concert organizer PULP Live World, EXO’s Chanyeol made his fourth trip to the country for his “City-Scape” concert in Manila.

As the performance began, the venue was filled with screams as the EXO-Ls and Yeolmaes waited for Chanyeol to take the stage. White lights illuminated the venue as fans turned on, waving their Eribong with smiles on their faces.
Kicking off the night with an explosive performances of “Back Again,” and a fan-favorite song “Good Enough,” Chanyeol set the stage on fire. His live guitar shredding, backed by a full band, had fans screaming at the top of their lungs.
His fans have been teasing Chanyeol as a ‘certified Filipino’ after coming back to the Philippines for the fourth time, where he wowed audiences with back-to-back fan meetings in 2023.
He greeted the crowd saying, “What’s up, Manila! Long time no see. I’m Chanyeol. Good to see you again! Are you guys having fun? Me too” He continued, “Magandang gabi, kumusta? Namiss ko kayo! For today’s show, I’m going to hear how good of a singer all of you are. But of course, I know you came to hear me sing, though today, I’d prefer we sing together.”
Chanyeol continued to perform with a rendition of ‘Stay With Me,’ the OST from the Korean Drama Goblin. The crowd sang along, filling the venue with beautiful harmonies as he moved effortlessly through this cherished track. This was followed by performances of ‘Minimal Warm,’ ‘Yours,’ and ‘Tomorrow.’

Right from the start, Chanyeol brought out his inner rockstar. Fans went wild when he grabbed his electric guitar and shredded iconic rock hits like “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses. As if that wasn’t enough, he took everyone on a nostalgic trip with “Hotel California” and Green Day’s “Basket Case”.
As the audience sang along, he smiled and said, “You guys are singing already. I like it! Well, honestly, I don’t need to say it anymore. These songs have a lot of memories.”
Chanyeol kept the energy sky-high, delivering fan-favorite EXO-SC tracks like “Telephone,” “Just Us 2,” and “Nothin” perfectly capturing EXO-SC’s signature vibe. The show didn’t stop there as he wowed the crowd with “Black Out,” “Ease Up,” and “Clover,” each song bringing out a different side of the multi-talented star.

Fans eagerly awaited Chanyeol’s take on “Hawak Kamay,” but in a playful twist, he declined and delivered a jaw-dropping rendition of the viral hit “Raining In Manila” by Lola Amour, which he performed not once, but twice. “It’s actually my first time hearing this song while preparing for this event, and I really like it,” Chanyeol shared with the crowd.

As the concert ended, Chanyeol left the crowd with heartfelt words, promising to return to the Philippines. “I really don’t wanna go home, but of course if you guys call me back, I’ll fly anytime to be here,” he assured his fans.
With warmth and sincerity, he reminded everyone to “take care of yourselves,” saying, “Today, I was really, really happy. Have a good rest. Eat lots of yummy food. Take good care of yourself; I will also take care of myself. Don’t worry, I’m doing well every day. Thank you. Don’t feel bad because I’ll always be ready to come back anytime with good music.” Ending on a high note, he added, “We are one, EXO. Saranghaja. Mahal kita!”
I loved how playful Chanyeol was during the encore of “Hasta La Vista,” and in that moment, it hit me just how nostalgic the song feels. When he sang the final line, “See you again,” it brought a wave of bittersweet memories. 🥹😭 #CHANYEOL #CityScapeInMNL pic.twitter.com/lIqHiYHUYH— Nelson Adrian (@nelsonnadrian) October 20, 2024
