WARREN HUE Releases Debut Album “Boy Of The Year”
BOY OF THE YEAR is Warren Hue’s first album. He was born in Jakarta. BOY OF THE YEAR has a lot of different sounds. It has some hip hop, some electronic music, and a few pop songs here and there. The album shows how Warren sees the city of Los Angeles through a mix of sounds and lyrics from different genres. It’s his own story of leaving Indonesia and going to a new city to follow his dreams in music. He talks about the challenges he faced and the great things that happened to him.
With the release of the album comes a powerful music video for “IN MY BAG” with Tobi Lou. “IN MY BAG” is upbeat and transcendent, and Tobi Lou’s verse makes it even better. On the experimental hip hop track, the two artists sound great together. “IN MY BAG” is the fourth single from BOY OF THE YEAR. It comes after the release of “HANDSOME” (416K streams), which was made by Chasu, a South Korean producer who has worked with the artist for a long time. Last year, Warren played the song for the first time during his set at 88rising’s HEAD IN THE CLOUDS FESTIVAL. He also played the song at his sold-out party series “PARTY IN WEST” in Los Angeles. AG Club, Rich Brian, redveil, yvngxchris, and more all came to the party series. This year, Warren also released three singles that led up to this project. “W” with yvngxchris and “RUNAWAY W ME” were two of the best.
In less than two years, Warren Hue has gone from being a local hero who played for 50 fans in Jakarta to an international star who played for over 100,000 people at this year’s Coachella Music Festival as part of 88rising’s Head In The Clouds Forever set. He is a big part of the soundtrack for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings from Marvel Studios. He has also been in The New York Times and Samsung and Microsoft ads. This year, NME, Bandwagon, and Ones to Watch named him a “Artist to Watch for 2022.” They called him a “sonic chameleon” who approaches music in a way that is “nothing short of infectious.”

The song was praised by Complex, Pitchfork, Hot New Hip Hop, UPROXX, and other magazines. Warren is about to perform at 88rising’s Head In the Clouds Festival at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, and his BOY OF THE YEAR North American tour will begin in October. Warren doesn’t look like he’s going to slow down as he starts the next part of his music career.
