Chikin Meokja: A Taste Of Authentic Korean Fried Chicken

We always loved eating Korean food, so we’re excited to share this delicious chicken from CHIKIN MEOKJA!
CHIKIN MEOKJA is basically a Korean word. “Meokja“ is a Korean phrase which means “Let’s eat” and “Chikin” is how Korean pronounce the word “Chicken“. Put the words together, and CHIKIN MEOKJA means “LET’S EAT CHICKEN“!
CHIKIN MEOKJA officially started last July 5. 2020. The inspiration came to the owner when she visited South Korea. She experienced chicken delivery at the home of a Korean family that she visited. She was quite surprised when she saw that the fried chicken was packaged and delivered as if it was pizza delivery. The chicken was presented neatly in a box with the delicious pickled radish (μΉν¨λ¬΄) as a side dish that perfectly complements the fried chicken. According to her, she enjoyed her experience so much that she thought that it would be a great idea to have the same delivery service in the Philippines.

As a blessing in disguise, the pandemic happened, and with many of her family members who are currently unemployed, the owner started the food business that would involve her entire family. The food business would help them during these challenging times brought by the pandemic, and at the same time, the owner’s younger brother has a passion for cooking. The younger brother is an HRM graduate of DSLU and an active member of the Animo Culinaire Brigade. She loves creating her dishes and discovering new ones.
After several trials and product testing, CHIKIN MEOKJA was born. It’s a family-run business with the owner’s experience in sales and marketing, the younger sibling cooking skills, financial support from her sisters in Canada along with her family and mother working as the workforce for their food business.
