Cebu is about to see a great rock show. After more than a decade, PULP Live World and Skesh Entertainment are excited to bring Boston’s BOYS LIKE GIRLS to the Philippines. The new date for BOYS LIKE GIRLS LIVE IN CEBU is October 12, 2022 at the Sky Hall Seaside Cebu. This is because of the current state of health around the world.
Martin Johnson (vocals and guitar), Paul DiGiovanni (guitar), John Keefe (drums), and Morgan Dorr (bass) will play their famous first album from beginning to end, which is sure to make people feel nostalgic. Boys Like Girls, which came out in 2006, had songs that were the soundtrack to a certain generation of pop-punk/pop rock fans coming of age. It was a breakthrough album for the band, with songs like “Hero/Heroine,” “The Great Escape,” and “Thunder” staying on the Billboard charts for weeks.
As famous as the band was at the time just because of this album, Love Drunk came out in 2009 and gave fans more songs to sing along to, like “Love Drunk,” “She’s Got a Boyfriend Now,” “Heart Heart Heartbreak,” and “Two Is Better Than One,” which featured Taylor Swift.
Fans weren’t surprised to hear in late 2019 that Boys Like Girls would be going on their first headlining tour in ten years. They had been inactive for years, so it didn’t come as a surprise when they announced five dates in Australia for April 2020. This exciting news came after the band hadn’t done anything for a long time. Their last album, Crazy World (“Be Your Everything,” “Life of the Party,” and “The First Time”), came out in 2012.
Boys Like Girls went on a short tour in 2016 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their first album. Now, they want to extend that celebration by going to parts of the world outside the US that they didn’t get to visit before. Before going on their first tour in ten years in Australia, the band is playing their first shows in years in Asia.
